Enterprise Advisers

Swindon&Wiltshire bw

Employers are key to providing real life experiences for local young people to learn more about the world of work and help them make an informed choice. Research confirms that experiences with employers during their education significantly help to prepare young people for their future careers.

Working closely with the headteacher or Senior Leadership Team of a school or college, Enterprise Advisers are volunteers who take their passion for raising aspirations of young people and combine it with their skills and strategic thinking.

An Enterprise Adviser uses their business experience and professional networks to help develop and implement an effective careers strategy that puts opportunities with local employers at the heart of a young person’s education.

“Becoming an Enterprise Advisor has been a thoroughly rewarding experience for both myself personally and for our business overall.” Daniel Busson, Operations Director, Capita WFM and Enterprise Adviser for The Ridgeway School and Highworth Warneford School. Read more.

Who can take on the role?

Enterprise Advisers are supported throughout the journey by a local Enterprise Coordinator, who will help to build the relationships with local schools and colleges and provide you with the training and resources needed to undertake the role.
