Director, SME Representative
Alison North joined the Board in July 2019 and became Co-Deputy Chair in March 2021. Alison has had her own business since 1969 establishing her company on a full-time basis in 1986. Since then she and her teams have worked extensively on the management of information with global clients across Europe, USA and Middle East. She is a pioneer for women in the workplace, employing and promoting women as equals alongside their male colleagues from the outset. As well as setting up her first business when she was 19 she was also the first woman to work on a North Sea Oil Platform in the late 1970s.
Working across many industries as well as within the public and third sectors she has gained experience and insight into the changing nature of business over the past 50 years. This knowledge has helped to explain the purpose of information to provide transparency and integrity as well as deliver success within organisations. In recent years Alison has provided leadership and education to new colleagues both within businesses and on a personal basis.
Until recently she was chairman of a London Hospital charity standing down in February 2019 to focus more on local life in Wiltshire.
Alison lives near Pewsey and is married to Geoff. She loves the outdoors and runs ultra-marathons a sport she took up in the last four years.
