Government publishes research into public awareness of and attitudes to current, emerging and future transport technologies, including:

  • car ownership and connectivity
  • electric vehicles
  • automated vehicles and driver assistance features
  • drones
  • Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS)
  • ride-sharing
  • space tourism and flying taxis

The reports summarise the first 5 waves of research, with 6 waves in total currently planned.

Wave 5 data was collected in December 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This research is part of the Future of Transport programme, which aims to shape transport innovation and secure the UK’s position as a leader in the transport sector of the future.
