The Swindon and Wiltshire Careers Hub brings together schools, colleges, employers, education providers and local agencies to help all schools and colleges deliver high quality careers guidance that inspires and prepares young people for the fast-changing world of work.
Created as part of the government’s careers strategy, the Swindon and Wiltshire Careers Hub provides individual support to 58 local schools and colleges helping them achieve the Gatsby Benchmarks, a framework of 8 guidelines that define what the best careers provision looks like.
Central to our work is a community of practice that enables schools, colleges and partners to share what works, discuss challenges and develop solutions to improve and enhance careers education across the county.
We also coordinate two employer networks, the Enterprise Adviser Network and Cornerstone Employers group, that provide valuable strategic and practical support to schools and colleges.
The Swindon and Wiltshire Careers Hub is a partnership between Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Swindon Borough Council and Wiltshire Council. The work of the Swindon and Wiltshire Careers Hub is overseen by the Careers Hub Steering Group.
There are around 40 Careers Hubs in England, each following the boundary of their Local Enterprise Partnership. The network of Careers Hubs is coordinated by the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC).
